Wine tastings are back at Hammerheads! They had discontinued them for a while, but have revived them due to popular demand. Smart move, as our members are still raving about this place a year later!
Hammerheads Ocean Grill in Glendale hosts Chef's Flight and Bite tastings - 3 wines paired with 3 appetizers - and a representative from the distributorship is there to discuss the wines (though I don't know exactly what they will be yet). The "bites" are generally new dishes that the kitchen is testing out for specials.
They have raised their price (who hasn't, these days?), but will still give us a discount at $8/person - an exceptional deal! (Payable at the restaurant that night.) If you haven't been to Hammerhead's before, they have a great selection of fresh seafood appetizers and entrees, as well as beef and pasta dishes. Check out the pics on their website. Personally, I'm a fan of the huge bacon-wrapped BBQ shrimp! You may want to plan to stay for dinner. This event is pay-as-you-go.
Yes, I know this is far for those of you in Scottsdale, but I want to support this independent restaurant in the West Valley - there are so few of them!
Please note: I must give them a headcount by Friday, July 18, so if you change your RSVP after that time, you will get a star next to your name. Also, this is an organized tasting that is open to the public, so not all attendees will be group members (yet!). Tasting starts promptly at 6 pm.
